This position will serve as an Assistant Director for the Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program (MASP). The Assistant Director will serve as a faculty mentor for approximately 55 undergraduate students in the natural and social sciences. They will teach two 1-credit seminars per semester and one course in the summer. They will also assist the Faculty Director and Program Coordinator with the planning and administration of programming for the academic year and for the summer bridge program.
The Assistant Director would be hired as a 100% Instructor for the 2020-2021 academic year. The position is a three year renewable position.
This position has an official start date of August 2020, but we encourage a July 2020 start date (with compensation).
- A Ph.D. in education, the natural sciences, the social sciences, or in a related interdisciplinary field.
- Expertise or significant experience working with first-generation college student and students of color.
- A minimum of 2 years university teaching experience or equivalent training.
