The Assistant Director - Professional Development will work to support the professional development of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and on supporting graduate students’ academic success. Specifically, this position will actively engage in promoting an inclusive graduate education and professional environment where everyone has opportunities to maximize their potential.
The Assistant Director (AD) will develop, implement, market, evaluate, and coordinate programming with campus and industry partners. Professional development programming may include but is not limited to the following: career exploration, interviewing, networking well-being, cultural competence, Individual Development Plans, communicating science to various audiences (e.g., Science Slam), leadership, teamwork, and mentorship. Additionally, the AD will consult with students (e.g., one-on-one), and support the development of professional and career documents (e.g., IDP, resume, cover letter).
