The Department of Biology at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University (CSB/SJU) is looking for a creative and talented educator/scientist for a one-year position as a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 2022. The CSB/SJU Department of Biology is a close-knit community of nineteen individuals that graduates roughly 60 majors each year.
The College of Saint Benedict (CSB) is a liberal arts college for women, and Saint John’s University (SJU) is a liberal arts college for men and a graduate School of Theology and Nursing for both men and women and is also the home of the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library and the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research. The successful candidate will teach multiple sections of a two-semester, upper-division, biology sequence in human anatomy and physiology, working with a team of instructors to develop lecture and laboratory course materials. Each semester, this person will teach two lecture sections and three laboratory sections per week. The selected individual will have access to modern physiology laboratory equipment, anatomical models, and a 3D anatomy teaching platform.
Successful applicants are not required to have an active research program, but research that engages undergraduates is welcome. Prior lecture/lab experience in human anatomy and physiology is preferred, but not required. Ph.D. applicants are preferred but ABD individuals are encouraged to apply if completion of their graduate career is foreseeable by December 2022.
