The Chemistry Department at Cuesta College, a two-year community college, announces the availability of a full-time tenure track Chemistry Instructor position beginning fall semester 2017. Teaching duties include Introductory Chemistry and General Chemistry with a possibility for growth into Introductory Chemistry and Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry courses. The assignment also includes participation in program review, faculty evaluations, curriculum development, and division and college governance. Desirable candidates will be innovative, collaborative, and supportive individuals with recent experience in teaching chemistry.
The Chemistry Department is the largest department in the Physical Sciences Division, which includes the disciplines of Astronomy, Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, and Physics. There are 10 full-time, tenured and 12 part-time faculty in the division, with 6 full-time and 5 part-time faculty teaching chemistry. Our students routinely utilize computers and modern instrumentation to collect and analyze data in our recently renovated chemistry labs. The department serves about 500 pre-nursing and transfer students per year.
