The Environmental Studies Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in inclusive pedagogy. The Postdoctoral Associate will join a multidisciplinary group of faculty committed to positive change in environmental educational practices, and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in program curricula and culture. The Postdoctoral Associate will lead a research program that seeks to address topics such as how classroom-based curriculum modifications impact students’ interpersonal skills, learning experience and understanding of environmental studies content, how inclusion-promoting interventions can be sustainably integrated into the environmental studies curriculum, and what system-level and structural changes are effective in supporting departmental change among others. The postdoctoral associate may use qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches, and will have the opportunity to work with faculty and students to evaluate educational programs and interventions. The associate will teach a two-credit graduate course once annually in Inclusive Pedagogy and Leadership. The knowledge generated by the associate’s work will contribute to the development of organizational change and inclusive educational approaches that will be applicable to a wide range of settings, including in the academic, public, and private sector.
The initial appointment is for one year, with the expectation of annual renewal for an additional two years upon satisfactory performance. The start date will be no later than August 15, 2019 with a salary range of $50,000 – $55,000 per year, commensurate with skills and experience. Review of applications will begin on April 1.
The Environmental Studies program at CU-Boulder is a hub for facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration in environment and sustainability.
