Primary Position Function
Design, develop and manage effective course material and scalable assessments for use in learning managements systems (LMS) and online learning platforms in collaboration with faculty using online lecture, online LMS and multimedia to promote effective teaching strategies and improve student learning experiences.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and develop high-quality effective course material in collaboration with faculty in the Department of Crop Sciences while working cooperatively with the staff in the College of ACES and the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL). Define learning objectives, create scalable formative and summative student assessments, evaluate and maintain online course quality.
• Maintain expertise in the learning management system platforms utilized for the courses offered by the Department. Design, develop and extend these platforms and other infrastructure that promotes effective teaching strategies and that improve student learning experiences.
• Act as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff and students on the use of online tools for teaching and learning, including: Co-manage the online programs in conjunction with the online program coordinator Respond to student questions with regards to technical and LMS issues
• Supervise classroom assistants: Provide resources and training for teaching assistants Coordinate student progress review processes

Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, education or related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in educational technologies, education, or related field

Experience
Required: At least 1 year experience with various online based Learning Management System platforms, demonstrated experience in the educational field. Experience implementing web conferencing systems.
Preferred: Experience in the design or delivery of online course material. Experience working in Higher Education. Experience working with faculty in a role other than as a student. Supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to function in a team environment. Proficiency in multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of best practices in web design, accessibility, copy right and graphic design

Appointment Status
This is a 12-month, 100% academic professional position.

Salary
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience

Proposed starting date
This position is available as soon as possible after the closing date.
