The Center for Teaching and Learning promotes and supports an on-campus and online instructional community where excellence in teaching and learning is valued and where educators engage in evidence-based state-of-the-art practices that foster opportunities in which diverse students and instructors can thrive. The Learning and Technology Specialist contributes to CTL’s mission through multiple venues.

Job Summary

  • Respond to instructor questions regarding potential technology solutions and pedagogical best practices.
  • Consult with faculty, pedagogical about best practices for using various educational technologies in face-to-face, blended, and online learning environments.
  • Partner with faculty to develop instructional strategies, course materials, and assessments to effectively integrate educational technologies in teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with faculty on grants to integrate learning technologies into course design, delivery, and assessment.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, seminars, and courses on the effective uses of technology in teaching and learning.

  • Collaborate with other campus units to select, implement, and evaluate new technologies for teaching and learning.
  • Assist and advise on technological solutions aimed at promoting student success in face-to- face, blended, and online learning environments.
  • Develop and create various pedagogical resources (e.g., videos) for promoting best use of educational technologies in face-to-face, blended, and online learning environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate plus minimum of 1-3 years of relevant academic experience.
  • Experience in higher education teaching and/or instructional design.
  • Demonstrated excellence in understanding and application of learning theory, evidence- based teaching techniques, and principles of instructional design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience/skill in using learning management systems and platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently on projects.
  • Evidence of excellent written, oral, digital, and listening skills.
