If you are a physics graduate student and interested in a career in teaching, the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) would like to invite you to attend the National Meeting of the AAPT in San Diego at the Town and Country-San Diego this coming January 6th to 9th.
Graduate students can attend the conference by first joining AAPT at the very reduced graduate student rate of $48 (http://aapt.org/Membership/joining.cfm#levels). You would then register for the entire conference at the graduate student rate of $55. (http://aapt.org/Conferences/wm2018/registrationpage.cfm?Student=yes.)
If you are interested in teaching at a two-year community college, the committee on Two-Year College (TYC) Physics would like to invite you to the sessions specifically geared towards TYC faculty on Monday, the 8th . They will be held throughout that day and include an informal get-together breakfast at 7 AM and the meeting of the Committee on Physics in Two-Year Colleges at 12:45 PM. Both of these activities are open to all. You don’t need to be a TYC faculty to attend. If you come Monday, you will also have an opportunity to hear plenary talks on Climate Change and LIGO as well as the AIP Gemant Award Lecture.
If you have any questions about this or AAPT in general please let us know. We hope to see you at the conference.
