The Aspire Alliance Florida Regional Collaborative is hiring!
The newly forming NSF Aspire Alliance Florida Regional Collaborative (FLRC) is searching
for a Program Coordinator to serve as a Postdoctoral Scholar in FSU’s Office of STEM
Teaching Activities (OSTA) in Tallahassee, Florida. This position is a full-time, 12-month
appointment, with a start date in Summer 2021 (as soon as possible).
What is the FLRC?
The FLRC is a network of geographically related 2- and 4-year institutions that work together
to share and develop programs and experiences that work towards two primary goals:
- Increase the number and diversity of the pool of graduate students and qualified
professionals pursuing a teaching career in STEM at 2-year colleges;
- Expand and strengthen the skills of future, early-career and current STEM faculty to
teach the diverse student population.
The Program Coordinator will work toward the goals established by the NSF Aspire Alliance
by developing and implementing a sustainable model for supporting regional graduate students,
postdoctoral scholars, and other working professionals interested in exploring careers in
collegiate STEM teaching by leading, collaborating on, and promoting programming related to
training instructors and future faculty in equitable and anti-racist teaching.
This position will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Erica Staehling (email@example.com),
Associate Director of FSU’s OSTA and PI for the NSF Aspire Alliance Florida Regional
Collaborative grant. The Program Coordinator will also work closely with a Graduate Assistant
and FSU’s Institutional Change team, and Tallahassee Community College’s Associate Vice
President for Academic Affairs, Anthony Jones.
