Teaching Assistant Professor - UNC Chapel Hill

Position Summary
The Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks applicants for a Teaching Assistant Professor position to be effective July 1, 2020. The successful candidate will join a cohesive and innovative group of faculty in the department dedicated to teaching excellence. The position involves teaching 3 classes per semester including Human Anatomy & Physiology. The new faculty member will also be expected to engage in departmental service and will have opportunities for summer teaching if desired. A Ph.D. is preferred, although ABD candidates will be considered. All candidates must have a record of independent teaching experience. Strong candidates will have relevant teaching experience in anatomy & physiology in a classroom setting. The position will be for an initial fixed term period of 3 years with potential for renewal; promotion is possible in 6-year increments.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a record of independent college teaching with a commitment to using evidence-based teaching methods in the classroom and have strong interdisciplinary content knowledge.
