Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology, Oberlin College

The Biology Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences. Appointment to this position will be for a term of one year, beginning July 2020, and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.

The incumbent will teach a total of five courses in the areas of human global/public health and organismal biology. The successful candidate will lecture in our introductory Organismal Biology course; teach a non-majors course on global and public health; teach Vertebrate Anatomy with lab; and, teach an upper-level course in an area of global/public health, such as reproduction, nutrition, or epidemiology.

Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D (or M.D.) degree in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2020. Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable, as is postdoctoral experience.
